An Interview with Kaminari by Charon
Malada Inkpen looks up from her pie, "Kami! It's good to see you again!"
Katina Star waves at Kami.
Charon:"Oh! " He exclaims, looking at a picture he was given, "I've been looking for you, though no, nothing sinister, I promise! Kaminari Kaze, right?"
Kaminari Kaze: There is a sudden shift in the wind, the trees around the pub begin to bend as gale force winds surround the Lion's Head, only to die down as the Chief Bard walks in. "My Porcupine." A smile spread on his face, "Lady Katina." He eyes the stranger for a moment, a look of outright malice darkening his normally cheery demeanor. "And you would be? Wait. Hold that thought." He moves up beside Malada and tossed a small bag of gold coins on the bar, "Every drop of Anar White Rose mead in the building... in my jeweled tankard, please."
Malada Inkpen studies Kami carefully, "You have either been through hell and back and need a drink... or are celebrating your return. Either way... Are you alright?"
Adrianna Lyre nod her head as she takes the coins and put it away as she goes and refills his order, "Yes right away."
Charon: "I'm Charon, sir, but who I am isn't overly important, I'm a newcomer, Sir Dishan asked me to interview you, are you acquainted with him?"
Adrianna Lyre fills his order and set the jeweled tankard on the tray and walk over and hold his drink out with a bow of her head.
Kaminari Kaze leaned over, meaning to give the Lady Mayor a soft kiss on the cheek, "It is not a happy story Porcupine, if you wish to know, come to my cave later." He took the tankard, gave it a quick once over to make sure every jewel was in place and smiles to Adrianna, "Thank you Jallil." As he sipped the Fae mead he looks at the stranger, "Yes, Dishan is as close as I have to a Brother, what is this about?"
Charon: "Perhaps we can take a seat at the table, so I have somewhere to put all these parchments?"
Adrianna Lyre: "You're welcome." She said softly as she walked around picking up any empty plate and glasses that lies about.
Malada Inkpen takes his hand if allowed and squeezes it. "You're alive... I'm grateful. I will hear your story when you are ready."
Adrianna Lyre moved behind the counter and smiles as she picked up her rag and clean off the bar. Then moved to refill the bowls of nuts on the counter
Kaminari Kaze motioned to Malada, "Sit with us my love." He says softly before nodding to Charon, "Alright then, I suppose I'll bite." He grabbed his tankard in his other hand, smiling at the comfort of Malada's touch. "This ought to be good."
Charon: "I promise this won't take long." he says as he takes a seat, "Well, unless you want it to, I can take as much information or as little as you want."
Katina Star frowns slightly as she's left alone at the bar, and shrugs. She turns to Adrianna, "Hey if you've still got some pie I'll take a slice. And some mead."
Adrianna Lyre: "Sure we have plenty dear." She said smiling. She walked over to the kitchen and cut her a slice and bring it to her and sit in front of her then move to grab a mug and fills it fully and set it beside her pie, "Here you go dear."
Katina Star smiles, "Thank you." She takes the mug and plate and joins her friends at the table because why the hell not?
Charon spreads pages around the table and searches for the right one, "So, I have three questions Sir Dishan wants an answer to if you are inclined, I have a few questions I would like to know too. But answer as much or as little as you would like, sir"
Kaminari Kaze: "Katina....." was all he said, silly Paladins. "Alright then, what do you want to know?" He runs a quick checklist of possible crimes he may or may not have committed in recent memory and couldn't think of any atrocities on this plane. "Well, alright, I'll try to give you what I can I suppose, I don't have any of my books with me at the moment, so if you want some deep, dark secret, you're more likely to be eaten by a gru."
Katina Star had started on her pie after joining the table and looked at Kami when addressed. "What? I was all alone over there."
Malada Inkpen: "Might as well join the party, Katina."
Charon: "So, as you know, the various realms that have entered into this alliance are celebrating their 10th anniversary, and though I have never met you personally, my good friend, Sir Dishan says you are an important personality, and I am inclined to believe him, though I am a newcomer, he has never steered me wrong.... My first question then, is this: 'How long have you been in this realm?'"
Kaminari Kaze frowned, he had not thought about those old days in such a long time. "I am not native to the Sylvan lands. Nine years ago, come the Yule, a great darkness swallowed up a land with no name that few remember. There are many you will likely talk to that will know its name as I do, but I refuse to speak it. We came as refugees, welcomed by the most beloved and glorious Queen of Light." He reached for his tankard and took a very big gulp of the mead, "Two years ago I was kidnapped by demonic forces and trapped in the abyss, where it was believed I succumbed to...." He stops for a moment, "Strike all of that. To answer your question I have been a loyal and faithful servant of the beloved and most glorious Queen of Light for seven years."
Malada Inkpen: "Just the good stuff, Kami," and she reaches for him. "The bad stuff can come later."
Charon bows his head, "At your request, I will strike that, though if I am honest, it sounds very interesting." He smiles, intrigued, but not inclined to wear out the honesty of the interviewee.
Kaminari Kaze: "Of course love, there is no need for every last detail." He looked across the table at. "Charon, It is not a story worth repeating, but please, ask your next question."
Charon nods, "Okay, so my next question is, 'Have you achieved what you set out to do here'...I suppose I should first ask, what it was you wanted to achieve in this realm, if you could add that, it would be truly fantastic, sir."
Kaminari Kaze began to laugh a hearty, full bellied laugh. "I came here to find a home and survive, and I have become the greatest of my kind!" Fae Bard ego alert! "There is nothing that I have wished to do that was not achieved. I have entertained the greatest of royalty and lowest of peasants, I have stolen Queens from lands as dark as midnight, I have spent the night with women no mere mortal could even touch and survived with my life and sanity intact. I tread paths by midnight that others fear to speak of by day. I have talked to gods, loved women and sang songs to make the minstrels weep, Twilight King of Anar, Chief Bard of Sylvhara, I am literally a walking legend. There is nothing left for me to accomplish, other than to enjoy myself to complete and total satisfaction." ((sad thing is none of that is even remotely BS of fluffery.))
Charon laughs, "It does sound like you're quite happy with how things turned out, I suppose that covers the third question, but I would like to ask it anyway, if for no other reason than to hear an answer impacted by the asking of the question...:" He pauses and re-reading the question to make sure he asks it as written, "Do you have any new goals for the future?"
Katina Star looks impressed at Kami's story. "Dang. And all I've done is find lost friends and become a paladin."
Kaminari Kaze leaned forward and a feeling that can only be described as intense pressure began to fill the room. The tiniest of white sparks moved across his eyes as he looked at the male in dead seriously. "There is only one thing I desire, for no other reason than it tickles my fancy and that is power. Pure, unadulterated, apocalyptic power."
Malada Inkpen: "Kami runs in more dangerous circles than you, Katina." She looks at Kami with a disappointed look, then rolls her eyes, "Males."
Katina Star raises an eyebrow. "They say power corrupts."
Charon chuckles, "Interesting indeed!" That's all the questions Dishan wanted answering, but I would love it if you could indulge me a few of my own, you are of course free as ever, to refuse."
Kaminari Kaze winked at Malada as that feeling of pressure began to dissipate, "I learned a new trick in Faery love, wait until you see it." He then smiled to Katina, "Such a Paladin thing to say my friend, what else have I to do but learn new ways to piss off Mages?" He chuckled at that and seemed to relax, "Alright, my time is short. Ask your questions."
Katina Star waves at Kami.
Charon:"Oh! " He exclaims, looking at a picture he was given, "I've been looking for you, though no, nothing sinister, I promise! Kaminari Kaze, right?"
